Jeopardy! fans showered contestant Drew Goins with praise for his “dazzling performance” that went down in tournament history .
During the Monday, Feb. 3 episode of Jeopardy , contestants Lucas Partridge, a high school counselor from Las Vegas, Nevada, Amar Kakirde, a policy analyst from Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey, and Drew Goins , a journalist from Honolulu, Hawai’I, took the stage for the Tournament of Champions quarterfinal game 6.
During the riveting game, the three players were tested on a number of trivia categories ranging from ‘The Man, The Myth, The Legend’ to ‘Voyaging Through History.’ And while all contestants played a remarkable game, Drew emerged victorious beating out his fellow players with a staggering final score of $24,600 after securing 25 correct responses.

Not only were fans blown away by Drew’s impressive performance, but he also went down in gameshow history. Tonight Drew became the first-ever Second Chance winner to make it all the way to the semis of a Tournament of Champions. This milestone was skill and luck as Drew stepped in last minute for the game after Abbott Elementary star Lisa Ann was forced to back out of the game due to scheduling conflicts.
After the groundbreaking win, Jeopardy fans took to a newly posted Reddit thread congratulating Drew on a job well done. One fan wrote: “Shoutout to Drew Goins, who impressively stepped in for Lisa Ann Walter in the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions quarterfinals after her scheduling conflict. It’s great to see him making the most of the opportunity! Another added: “What a dominant game by Drew!”
A third viewer chimed in: “So happy for Drew <3 an amazing performance — was dazzled by his responses to physics anagrams and word categories. Who else cheered when he landed back to back DDs?” While someone else noted: “I know I’m here early but I’m surprised nobody’s pointed out how awesome it was that he chuckled at Ken’s pronunciation and then repeated it for effect. In a list of many moments, that’s one of my all-time favorites from Drew.”
