KANSAS City star quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ journey to the Super Bowl this season has been met with challenging situations off the field.

Luckily for Mahomes, he’s used to playing in the Super Bowl, as the 29-year-old will be playing in the big game for the fifth time in six seasons when he’ll face the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans this weekend.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 15-2 record in the AFC, helping secure a No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

After two playoff wins, he will now gear up for a Super Bowl clash against the Eagles – a rematch of Kansas City’s 2022 win.

Another win and the Chiefs will achieve a three-peat – a feat that no NFL team has ever accomplished.

The three-time Super Bowl champion Mahomes, however, has had off-the-field distractions, both good and bad, during Kansas City’s playoff run.

Birth of Third Child

Patrick’s playoff run got off to a delightful start as his wife, Brittany Mahomes, gave birth to their second daughter, Golden Raye, on January 12.

It was the third child for Patrick and Brittany, along with Sterling, 3, and two-year-old son Bronze.

After a week of sleepiness nights and losing blood in childbirth, Brittany got to attend the NFL star’s Divisional Round win over the Houston Texans.

Patrick completed 16 of his 25 passes for 177 yards, along with a touchdown in the 24-13 win.

After the Chiefs win, he was spotted giving a kiss to Brittany on the sidelines.

Patrick was able to play the game as there had been fears he could miss the playoff game if she wasn’t induced the previous weekend.

Devastating Grandfather Health Update

After their Divisional round win, the Chiefs advanced to play the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game.

Unfortunately, two days before the showdown, it was revealed that Patrick’s grandfather, Randy, was moved to hospice.

The news was announced by the two-time MVP’s mother, Randi, who has yet to share what particular issues he has been suffering with.

“My dad is in hospice & I’m lost for words,” she wrote on Instagram.

Randi also shared health news of her dad last year.

She wrote then: “Prayer warriors please pray for my daddy. He is in the hospital and is not well.. his name is Randy.”

The news didn’t seem to affect Patrick’s play in the AFC Championship, leading the Chiefs to the 31-28 win and advance to the Super Bowl.

He totaled three touchdowns in the contest and 245 passing yards.

Mahomes Sr. Concerns

Patrick will have worries in his mind as he attempts to achieve the historic three-peat.

His father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., was arrested for DWI before last year’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

The elder Mahomes was able to attend Super Bowl 58 and will be on hand for this year’s big showdown.

Still, Mahomes’ dad, who has already been sentenced to 10 days in jail, needs to be on his best behavior, especially on Bourbon Street in New Orleans this weekend.

Patrick Sr. has already recently been under fire after a controversial post on his personal account on X.

The 54-year-old claims his account was hacked after an AFC Championship post-game message that read, “Today is a great day to not be from Buffalo.”

Mahomes’ Mansion

The Chiefs’ trip to the Super Bowl should give anxiety to Mahomes and his teammate, star tight end Travis Kelce.

Both players had their homes robbed in October.

The thieves broke into their luxury houses and stole their jewelry and Super Bowl memorabilia.

The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed that Kelce was heartbroken after some of his jerseys and items were taken just hours after Mahomes’ home was burglarized.

The Chiefs stars weren’t alone as Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow and icons from the NBA and NHL were targeted as well.
