FOX News colleagues came together to support reporter Benjamin Hall, 39, who was injured while reporting outside Kyiv, Ukraine, earlier today.
The details of Hall’s injury have not yet been revealed as Fox News says the safety of its team in Ukraine is, “our top priority”.
“My heart breaks for @BenjaminHallFNC, his wife, and their 3 young kids. Praying for him, them, and the rest of our teams in Ukraine,” national correspondent for Fox News Garret Tenney said on Twitter.
The Sun obtained a memo from Fox News which says: “We have a minimal level of details right now, but Ben is hospitalized and our teams on the ground are working to gather additional information as the situation quickly unfolds.”
Chief political anchor for Fox News Bret Baier tweeted: “Covering a war is dangerous business- please keep all of the crews on the ground – and the people there in your prayers – but today – especially Ben.”
“Please say a prayer for @BenjaminHallFNC, our brilliant and brave @FoxNews reporter, who was injured in Ukraine,” Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany said.
Benjamin Hall is a British journalist who has worked with Fox News since 2013.
He was named as the State Department correspondent in November 2021.
According to the Fox website, Hall, “has covered elections in numerous countries, interviewed presidents, prime ministers, foreign ministers, US commanders, ISIS prisoners, and survivors of the genocide against Uighurs in China”.
Is it no surprise that Hall’s colleagues view him as a valuable member of the team.
“Please say a few prayers for our @FoxNews colleague @BenjaminHallFNC, who was injured today while news gathering outside of Kyiv. He is hospitalized right now, and we have no further details at the moment,” said Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin.
“Prayers for his family too,” said Fox co-anchor John Roberts. “Benji is an incredible correspondent and an absolutely lovely person.”
JOURNALISTS UNDER ATTACK IN UKRAINE
This hospitalization occurred in the wake of American journalist Brent Renaud’s death, who was killed in Ukraine over the weekend.
Filmmaker Renaud, 51, was reportedly shot dead while fleeing from Russian soldiers who opened fire at him just outside Ukraine.
Renaud previously contributed to the New York Times, though he was not on assignment with the Times, according to the newspaper’s deputy managing editor.
Renaud’s colleague, Juan Arredondo, was with the filmmaker when it happened and was wounded in his lower back.
These attacks come as Kremlin blocked websites such as the BBC, Facebook and Twitter in an attempt to increase censorship within Russia.
