A few weeks ago, Verástegui sparked controversy when he made a gesture that was compared to the Nazi salute during his participation in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), an event that brings together figures from the far-right in the U.S. and internationally.

In his speech, Verástegui expressed his support for the movement led by Donald Trump and Elon Musk. At the end of his speech, he extended his right arm straight out, a gesture many analysts have linked to the Nazi salute used in 1930s and 1940s Germany.

Elon Musk Made a Similar Gesture
Last November, Elon Musk also found himself involved in a similar controversy. During Donald Trump’s inauguration parade, the Tesla CEO made a gesture with his arm that some interpreted as a Nazi salute.
The gesture was captured while Musk was among other prominent figures at the Capital One Arena, where over 20,000 of Trump’s supporters gathered to celebrate his inauguration.

During the event, Musk took the stage visibly excited, made animated gestures, shouted “Yes!” into the microphone, and then gave a brief message. It was at this moment that the gesture sparked controversy due to its similarity to the infamous salute associated with Nazi Germany.
