Mrs. Blanca Patricia Martínez was found dead, confirmed her relatives who went to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), and they are waiting to be informed about the cause of her death.

The victim was last seen on January 3 of this year in the Ejido Francisco Villa, and since then, her loved ones have been supported by the authorities and family groups that search for missing persons.

One of these groups is Fuerzas Unidas Nos Falta Liz Puga, Nos Faltan Todos, whose members provided support during the searches and when they went to the FGE to continue the investigation.

The group’s president, Karen García, said that this support is important for the victims, as the authorities are overwhelmed with missing persons cases.

The FGE identified the body of Blanca Patricia Martínez, who had been missing since January 2, 2025, in Tijuana.

She mentioned that from her own experience (she has been searching for her sister, Elizabeth Puga, since July 5, 2020), those grieving support each other with the hope of accelerating the search for their loved ones by taking in anonymous citizen reports received on their social media, as it takes at least a month to receive support from the Local Commission for the Search of Missing Persons.

“We go out every day as we receive information, we provide support at the prosecutor’s office until the location is made. For us, providing support and helping with a location is gratifying; it has a bittersweet taste because it’s not always how we want to find them, but it is a location. Thank God we have the trust that the families place in us to represent them before the authorities and ensure they receive dignified searches and proper procedures,” she stated.

On the other hand, Angélica Ramírez, a member of the collective Una Nación Buscando-T, lamented that the staff of the Local Commission for the Search of Missing Persons takes advantage of the effective work done by activists, who, with their own resources, go out on the streets and all kinds of terrains to locate the missing.

She criticized that the agency complicates the assistance for those suffering from this issue, as with the relocation of the offices from the Third Stage of the Tijuana River to the Francisco Villa neighborhood, families risk not being attended to or not receiving updates on the investigations when they visit.

Ramírez mentioned that when they go to the new offices, they are redirected to the Institute of Sustainable Mobility (Imos) or some café.

Moreover, in Francisco Villa, the missing persons search flyers cannot be seen by passersby, as they were at the former commission offices.

Therefore, the members of the collective trust each other more and rely on social media to request help in locating their loved ones.
